The Situation

An incoming CIO hires KPM VIPER to conduct a detailed risk assessment of their information technology environment prior to taking the reigns. KPM provides an accurate snapshot of and identifies a potential weakness which needs to be better understood.

After reviewing the initial situation, KPM VIPER conducts consulting interviews with staff to help determine which approach would be best. KPM VIPER staff and management recommends a hybrid risk-based approach and works directly with client management and staff to make sure that the solution becomes a part of the corporate culture rather than an obstacle to conducting business.

The Situation

As a high tech company considered acquiring a smaller competitor, they faced multiple hurdles, including divergent systems, which needed to be overcome. Key systems, including sales tracking, customer leads and inventory, needed to be efficiently integrated in order to maintain business continuity. The company turned to KPM VIPER for assistance.

KPM VIPER stepped in as the interim CIO and quickly identified antiquated technologies at the target company. A project plan was quickly put into place to remove these technologies and to seamlessly integrate all the data and employees into the purchasing firm’s infrastructure over the subsequent month.

KPM VIPER worked with the purchasing firm’s technology group to create an interim bridge until the full migration of technologies and data was complete. This allowed sales to track inventory, while sales and purchasing and management could track commissions and view territory progress — all while remaining seamless and transparent to customers.

The Situation

A life sciences company was set to undergo its first year of Sarbanes-Oxley. The organization was also undertaking several other compliance audits and was concerned that their staff was becoming increasingly inundated by the various compliance regulations. KPM VIPER was asked to provide a solution that might reduce some of the complexities and time expenditure involved in all these processes.

KPM VIPER quickly went to work identifying all compliances the firm was actively pursuing. Because many of the compliances were calling for the same evidence, KPM VIPER created GAP analyses to determine redundancies and potential opportunities for streamlining the process.

Without changing any internal processes, adding any employees or creating any new expenditure, KPM VIPER helped significantly reduce the time employees spent on audits while also reducing overall audit fees.
